    They had Bertie!
My bad. Must have missed that one. I thought I had my finger on the pulse seeing as I spend most of my time gazing at the posters on the Arts block wall when bored. When was he there?

I'd love to debate the Minister for Justice about our asinine libel laws. :)

    DeV.

mcdowell would receive a very active reception from the Left wing parties if he turned up and I reckon thats the reason he has refused all invites so far.

Its strange as he is a barrister and should revel in a debate.....

They had Bertie in week 2 or something of MT. Very early on altogether. I wasn't there but apparantly it was packed and Bertie humped Paddy Cosgrave's leg.

McDowell has also paid a visit to our beloved GMB this year. The PD's got him in to argue with a no-name SF cllr about policies. McDowell, as much as I despise some of his policies, swept the floor with him. SF boy also said that SF wanted a 69% tax rate.

as fair as know McD and John Longeran were involved in a debate together. McD was AG then. JL was there as govenor of MJ prison. Aparently, JL swept the floor with him and muttered at something "with your policies i'm glad you're not Minister for J" and less than 2 years later....

In the last year or so I have met Geldof Rushdie John Hume Niall Quinn three Taoisigh, George hook, the president (twice) i missed Ron Jeremy and The Edgeand the female porn star . But the GMB / hist /phil "covered" most of these :) They DO get great guests but there is a bit of popularial appeal creeping in. It doesnt have to be made sexy IMHO

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,945 ✭✭✭cuckoo

    Beyonce? huh?

when are the phil and hist going to get in some female guests - for the past two years their requirements for women to be guests seem to be the ability to look good in not very much clothing.

what else do females have to offer? other than looking good?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,487 ✭✭✭Kevin_rc_ie

well if they had Mary Harney, Mary Robinson, or Mary Mary McAleese, they'd just be terribly boring i'd imagine.

Actually, what you describe as "a no-name SF cllr" was Robbie Smyth, the General Secretary of the party. And yes, if there's one thing McDowell does best, it's wiping the floor with shinners in debates. :D

I'd go to see ol' mary lou mac. Though I fear that'd just increase the testosterone..

    i don't like her.

seriously, guess a few names of some interesting ladies that aren't interesting cos they're hot?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,523 ✭✭✭ApeXaviour

    It's pretty difficult.

Harney, mo molam, goldie hawn (this woman is very quick-witted, funny and intelligent), the williams sisters erm.... writers like maeve binchy I suppose etc, oprah, ruby wax, jenny saunders, sonia o' sullivan, eavan boland, Eunice Shriver, nancy cartwright..

That's all I can think of for now cos family guy is on..
