Unfortunately not much really. Thats the license key.

Normally this is stuck to the side of the PC or on the disk case that the cd comes in.

If it's gone you may be looking at buying a new license / copy of office.

If you have proof of purchase you may be able to get some help from microsoft on this.... maybe someone else would know more about this side of it than I do (Colm?).

www.openoffice.org - smaller than the admin service pack for office 2003

yes there are apps that will tell you your serial no for XP etc but you have to run them BEFORE you reinstall , and I don't think it works for office 2K

Call Microsoft, they may (or may not) give you the serial number (only if you registered)

    It is what it's.

The user reinstalled Windows, so the key won't be in the registry.

Thanks :d - forgot the link, should be on a sticky somewhere
he Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder is a freeware utility that retrieves your Product Key (cd key) used to install windows from your registry. It has the options to copy the key to clipboard, save it to a text file, or print it for safekeeping. It works on Windows 95, 98, ME, NT4, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Office 97, and Office XP. This version is a quick update to make it work with Windows Server 2003.
but as per my previous post it don't do Office2K :(
