Eircom problem

    I got the new eircom broadband deal recently, but didnt take off the firewall during installation...
    i couldnt connect to the internet at all using explorer, even after i uninstalled/reinstalled modem, and disabled (uninstalled after a while) the firewalls...
    i had adware, zonelabs, and norton running - i no too many but its the aul fellas computer and he was paranoid i guess....
    so after this i put on mozilla and it worked like a dream - not a bother - but i installed zonelabs again - and now........nothing. its a nightmare.
    i know its connecting cause i can get positive responses when i use the ping command....but its being blocked somewhere by something????

    any ideas?

    Check if Windows internet connection firewall (ICF) is running and if it is, allow http traffic. If it isn't running, then try shutting down ZA and any other firewall software and see if IE will work.. Make sure IE is allowed internet access in ZA's program control. Hope this helps..
