Just finished watching it on Channel 4 for the first time, truly excellent film smile.gif The ending had me nearly in tears.
Channel 4 seems to have a lot of good films on lately, especially on Sundays and Mondays.

    I am inflatible !

While I agree that Leon is far superior film than the Fifth Element. I wouldn't go as far as to call it a pile of ****e, I actually quite enjoyed it smile.gif

As far as I remember, I got it in HMV, Grafton Street as part of a "4 for the price of 3" deal.

Don't suppose the directors cut has a happy ending? I'm feeling very american about leon, I want a happy ending!

I should bloody well hope not!

Ahhh well - considering it's Luc Besson, I doubt it very much. It would ruin the film anyway.

An alternative ending would be interesting though...

    Classic Oldman moment in Leon:

After the SWAT team takes a hiding from Leon, Norman (Gary Oldman) turns to Benny (A Cop) and says:

    Norman Stansfield: Get me everyone.
Benny: What do you mean "everyone"?
    Norman Stansfield: EVERYONE!!!

    Oh! How I laughed! biggrin.gif

I think you'll find on further examination that the Fifth Element was the biggest pile of pants ever.

    Leon however is stunning.

Leon was and is a verry classy film, and had Natalie Portman in it, who has since matured into a serious babe, also The Fifth element is pants, in comparison to the sexy lingerie that is Leon and Taxi.

noway, Leon kicks TFE around, but it's still an excellent film.

Leon is great, such a quality cast, especially Jean Reno and Natalie Portman.

Actually, another Luc Besson film that I love is the Big Blue. Its a bit long and nothing much happens in it, but it looks stunning, and again the cast is great. (Jean Reno in it too).
