Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hey, not sure what game it was in this w/end, one of the championship, first or second divisions. Anyway, apparently some keeper scored with a drop kick from his own box. Does anyone have a link to an mpeg of this goal?

A freakish equaliser from Preston goalkeeper Andy Lonergan earned the Lilywhites a share of the spoils against Leicester at the Walkers Stadium.

Lonergan had proved powerless to prevent the the hosts' fourth-minute opener scored by Trevor Benjamin.

But with seven minutes until the half-time interval, Lonergan levelled with a clearance kick out of his hands which eluded opposite number Kevin Pressman.

Interesting pub-quiz type fact :) I didn't know you could score from out of your hands.

yeah, i actaully did the same the same a few years ago one time and the ref disallowed it?!

as far as i understand you cant score from out of your hands unless someone gets a touch, did pressman get a touch?

It's rare enough, but has happened before in top flight football......

Peter Shilton scored against Southampton at the Dell way back in October 1967. Two months earlier Pat Jennings scored a similar goal for Tottenham Hotspur in the Charity Shield match against Man U at Old Trafford.

I'm sure there are other instances.

Not sure what the current rules say, but neither Shilts of The Big Man's goal was touched by the opposing keeper

Peter Thomas scored one from his hands for Waterford in the distant past

Are you sure your not thinking bout the law that you cant score from a throw in? Theres noting to say you can score from a kick out or goal kick.

Rule is you cant score from a thorw in or direct keepers throw.

Anyone remember Dean Saunders few years , he was tru one on one from the haflway line keeper forced him wide and out for a throw he quickly took the throw in hitting the keeper in the back of the head as he was running back to goal, then calmy chipped it in from about 35 yards and on the wing. Sneaky and classy :)

The second word is rarely if ever used to describe Dean Saunders, not so sure about the first... ;)
