PLEASE don't give to a shop that sells to the public. Although the charity concerned gets the money, what happens is that there's professional traders scour all the shops looking for cheap clothes and toys which they then haggle on price. The result is that these traders then take the stuff they've gotten too cheap and sell them on for a profit.... You'd do better to actually sell the stuff yourself at a car boot sale and then give the money directly to a good cause. If you're in Dublin there's a new indoor market starting in Leopardstown racecourse.

    Just a suggestion.

yep would agree with above post, although have done a couple of car boot sales and same thing goes on. Also found albeit from stories told to me that vincent de paul dont always send stuff to those that very needy. You could ring our ladys hospital in crumlin or temple st and ask them if they want or what charity's they could reccommend

fair play to you. Had to dump some rubbish recently at IPODEC dump in Tallaght and you would be amazed at the perfectly good stuff that had been thrown out that some kids would have really appreciated. Practically new bikes and scooters and all, some of it better than stuff my kids have at the moment!
