Mine came today, 10313 steps on it, played 8 holes of golf this evening, 2873 steps, if I hit the ball up the middle it would have been more like 300 :)

I was using Avast for several years but have recently switched to Microsoft's Security Essentials package. Its a lot less intrusive and resource intensive- and you're not constantly getting download/update messages- its a lot more integrated that many of the third party solutions. The way the engine updates get rolled into the first Tuesday updates- is suitable too- minimises reboots etc. If you're using Manage Engine or other applications that need high uptime- you won't want to be rebooting in an unplanned manner.......

    Is that free?

    Yes, as long as:
*Your PC must run genuine Windows to install Microsoft Security Essentials.

Yes- but you have to download a Java application from Microsoft which catalogues any MS software on your computer and will not allow you to install the Security Essentials package if it finds any pirated software.

Doesn't affect me as I have access to corporate M$ licenses, but I've installed Security Essentials on Mrs. Clareman's netbook, she only uses it for surfing and the preinstalled McAfee was killing it, works a treat now, thanks Op
