Umm then isnt us putting bt1 1aa illegal then, as we are misdirecting mail?
Perhaps the bosses there are cross because of extra hours having to be paid to staff to sort post, that should never be in their depot in the first place?

Regarding bt11aa freebies, by all means do them, I do it too, just dont give out if you dont receive the item.
If it is an item you paid for, put the proper address on, or use a forwarding company.

Completely agree with you here, I use the postcode as a last resort to get a freebie - I'm not actually bothered about whether I get it or not, but it's nice to be in with a chance.

I order a fair bit off eBay and Amazon (especially from Marketplace) and I'd NEVER use the postcode for either!! Why would you even take the risk that something you paid for wouldn't arrive?! I think it's very decent of the people in the sorting office to forward the mail on here - I don't think it's spiteful to forward it to Portsmouth - they're paid to sort the mail for the North, not sort the freebies for the South. All the same, it's nice to get something for nothing occasionally, and I'm grateful to them for being nice and sending them on!

Bought something off amazon 2 weeks ago used postcode and no sight of it yet.
Mind you, it probably takes longer due to the redirection to ROI

Cancelled order and reordered with ROI address. Didn't think it was worth the risk - or fair to the NI office.
Just remember that Free shipping is for orders over €27.

    Regarding the smoking kit, I applied and got an email roughly 1-2 hours after the submission;

"Thank you for your interest in NHS Stop Smoking literature. Unfortunately we are only able to fulfil requests to addresses with valid and correctly formatted postcodes in England" :(

I got a Rimmel Vinyl Lip Gloss today, delighted - have a rotten throat infection and needed cheering up!! :D

I think all I did was sign up for their newsletter, and I know that they're having a mascara promotion at the minute (it says win, but there are thousands to give away) - the site is

    www.rimmellondon.com

Just sign up to their newsletter and use BT1 1AA :)

Just wondering with these freebies, when specifying your address for websites that only deliver to the UK are you guys simply adding in the UK postcode after your normal address?

    For example:

    Bob Roberts
    55 The Park
    RiverView
    Newbridge
    Kildare
Ireland (Do I just specify UK as country?)
    BT11AA

    Does this actually work?

One last question...Do people end up getting loads of junk mail after submitting their details to these 'freebie sites'?

I'm not going to do this one - you have to enter your e-mail address and then they give you a link much like the one above. You get YOUR sample when 20 people click on the link you provided. Too much hassle for a bag of haribo :)

Edit: there seems to be a lot of sites with www.tryfreexxxx.com about at the minute, fishing for email addresses?
