advertising?

Anybody see those ads for RTE that seem to be about lately? Basically I (and all of us) are paying for a crappy ad, advertising something we all aleady have, I don't want and are all forced to pay for anyway! Money well spent wha?

And now they're going to put up the license fee! Charge me even more for **** I don't watch. Must be to cover the lost advertising revenue when they lost corrie. They must have been worried they wouldn't be able to afford the new Porshe this xmas.

I see ESB advertising too. Aren't they still the only electricity provider? Looks like the ad cost a fair bit too. Personnaly I didn't know the ESB existed until they advertised so it was a effective awareness raising campaign

Not for much longer - the electricty business is being deregulated soon (could it be as soon as 1 Jan?) so they are making sure when you think electricity, you think ESB.

It has been already I think - in work we're getting our electricity from Eirtricity, 10% cheaper and they didn't have to install any crap or anything.
