System Idle Process

    Hi

I understand that "System Idle Process" in Windows Task Manager should show the amount of time the computer has running. But it seems that on my machine this process shows in a quite accelerated count ie. it lapse 2 seconds when it should be 1 sec. Which means if I leave my machine for 24 hours, the CPU time will say 48 hours instead. What is wrong? I don't think it is serious but it looks stupid though

    My spec :

Boxed Intel P4 Prescott 3.2Ghz 800Mhz FSB / Intel stocked HSF
    MSI 865PE Neo2-PFISR / Corsair TWINX512-3200C2 DDR-DIMM 512MB
    SATA 160GB Samsung SP1614C 8MB / 128MB Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro
    Plextor DVD recorder PX-712A / Samsung SyncMaster 793DF 17"
    Antec SLK2650BQE Thermally Advantaged Chassis

    Any ideas ?

Do you have a hyperthreaded proc?

Go to task manager and on the performance tab click View->CPU History->One graph per CPU
