Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I was thought this when i was young and i think it applies to the ireland france game. A lot of irish football fans think we are going to beat france but mayo fans thought the something similar a few weeks back and look what happened then.

i think ireland if they play well hav a good chance of winning the game but france are going through a bad patch and could come out with something to prove.

As my father said henry could get a hat trick.

I would like ireland to win dont get me wrong but a draw would a be a great result too.

a draw will be a fine result but it'll only place us up on the dizzying heights of israel who got a draw. Israel can draw, we can win. France are not as good as they were.

Thing is... How badly are France wounded? And will they be able to strike back?

I'd put money on Henry not scoring, maybe even France not scoring tonight. I don't think he is as good on the world stage as he is in the Premiership. He hasn't proved me wrong yet, maybe he will tonight. But I don't think so.

Personally I think too many Irish supporters are looking for the stories to help themselves belive an Ireland win is on the cards. Personally I think it will be a French win or a draw.

I wouldnt bother paying too much attention to their past record, slow start, manager problems. I would just look at their team and figure out for myself how good they are. Its a pretty darn good line up. 9 or so players play in the Champions League. Henry is probably one of the best strikers in the world and Cisse isnt bad either. They have plenty of reasons to motivate themselves and so does the coach. It's a home game that they will be trying to win.

Even if we dont win tonight its not the end of the world. The rest of the teams will be taking points of each other and we still have to play France at home.

Remember jollyrodger. This is a side that failed to beat Greece in the European Championships. Anything is possible. You can't say that France weren't motivated then...

This match is almost like a good old fashioned cup tie...Ireland will be well up for the French & I personally think any result is possible.

    Should be a cracker

I would still be very fearful of playing france in Paris. A draw would be brilliant.
