apache question need answer asap

wheres me jumpa

just downloaded apache and want to use t to test php on my machine. anyone know how to do it? i.e. i want to be able to run php pages on my desktop rather than upload them to a server

i have searched for the answer myself and installing apache is not the problem. i was hoping to find someone who could tell me what to do once i have created a php page and want to see how it looks.
