Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    FROM SKY SPORTS.COM

    Aston Villa boss David O'Leary has been given the green light to bring in new players in January.

    O'Leary is keen to bolster the Villa squad and he has identified a few targets he would like to bring to Villa Park.

    "I've been told that I will be able to try and bring in a couple of players in January and I made the club aware of a couple I'd like to bring in," said O'Leary.

    "If you are going to have a good go at pushing this club on properly, trying to finish in the top six regularly, that would be the start of the process.

    "To start it off, we need five quality players. We haven't got the money to bring in five quality players straight away but we could start with maybe a couple in January and then maybe get two or three more in the summer.

    "I've given them a list of names and they didn't recoil when they saw who they were and that was the constructive thing about the meeting."

    O'Leary also revealed he is close to signing a new deal at Villa Park with just a few minor details to be sorted out.

    "Lots of things were agreed but there were a couple of points that the chairman has to get back to my solicitor on.

    "They have to be agreed and if they are agreed then I think that maybe in the next 10 days I'll be able to put pen to paper. I'm 90 percent certain it is going to happen."

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    According to usually very reliable sources on the Official Villa site messageboards the players O'Leary's rumoured to be after are...
    Christian Wilhelmson - Swedish guy
    Scott Parker
    James Beattie
    Steve Finnan
    Wes Brown
    Even if we only got Parker I'd be ecstatic
