Yeah, just three weeks playing texas hold 'em in any form. Now to wait and see how long it takes to get some of that money mailed to me, and will it actually come to 'Dublin, N/A, 00004, IE' - Dublin 4, Ireland seems so much simpler!

To be honest, it was pure luck that got me from 40 remaining players down to the final table - probably went 20 minutes without playing a hand (blinds 50,000/10,000 at this stage, stack was only 6k) as I was being moved about from table to table as others were knocked out. This speed tournie is very fast and furious at the start (from 1050 players to 800 in 10 minutes I guess), but from 200 players down to 110 (the first paying position) there was a horrendous slowdown to try to wait it out. Another boardster from Dublin (friend of mine) was knocked out in 22nd position (think he got $180 or so?). In the end, the guy who won the $6,500 1st prize had been shortest stack, maybe 200 chips or so, 30 minutes beforehand at a table I was chip leader. Funny old game :)

Now to start playing in real-life. Though I am sure that my hands will shake and my bluffs will be see-through - how long does it take to become comfortable with playing for real? I am not a nervous person at all, but know that I will be a bit nervous playing for money with strangers...

Every tournie big or small that I've won I've gotten at least some lucky breaks during it. Think about it, if you win two 50/50's you are bucking the probabilities!

Congrats on winning (especially so soon after starting!) but try playing in a real casino and that buzz you are feeling is but a sickly methadone replacement for the heroin *hit* of live play.
And if you think *playing* is a blast, there's just nothing like having Luke, Sharon or Danielle slapping down a bunch of durty 50's for you to take away into the night.
(preferably Sharon or Dani cos you know, that tache on Luke just doesnt do it for me :):) )
