I'm just over 6ft4in, and I've driven every style of bike. One type you might find comfortable is an enduro or touring bike.

What type of licence do you have ?? and I'll make some suggestions.

this would be my first bike so provisional license and would be a fine day only bike, for the first couple of months anyway until i get my full license.

Anyone know how long it takes to sit the test.

Im not really into the tourer bikes, im more into the paris daker type ones or enduro as you call them.

    Thanks

    Try a Yamaha TDR 125. It's a 2 stroke , 15hp (can be increased). I drove one for a while myself and it's an enduro/dakar style bike.

Well, if you're looking for learner legal (e.g. sub 33bhp) then the market is quite restricted (pardon the pun). Possibly the Honda Varadero XL125V might best suit your needs, or the above DT125.

Alternatively, you can look at getting something with a bigger engine, and getting the bike restticted, e.g. the TransAlp/Teniere/V-Strom etc.

But unless these bikes are factory restricted, expect to be forking out lots of your hard-earned to the insurance company (depending on your age/location etc.)..

I saw a courier on a Honda Transalp 400 for the first time the other day, they're second hand jap imports, I think JP Motorcycles on Pearse street sell japs. I'd reckon it's what you're looking for.
