I think we can all praise DeV's Santa Strick Force idea and I know that most of us would help in any way we can.

Well now there is a way. Amp - a frequent visitor to this forum, and now a dealer at the Fitz - has a thread going to raise cash for the SSF. It started out as a username change - from Amp to Pam - obvioously if enough money was raised. The idea has taken off and money is being raised hand over fist.

Now, another bright spark pledged some money if Amp/Pam would arrive at the next Boards.ie drinks in full drag - graet idea.

I took this idea and added a poker element - I pledged €200 if he played in a poker tournament in the Fitz while in drag.

Now I know I can't be the only one who would pay to see this, so I would urge you to head over to the Pledge Thread and pledge some money for the poker event

One night dealing in drag, say The Big Game at the end of November... hmmm, I've a few other things to toss money into regarding SSF but I figure I could wangle 100 notes more to see that....

I'd say we could ask Luke for an exception, I mean, Sharon and Danielle wear female clothes dealing... right?! :)

why don't we organise a big SSF charity poker event!?

.......and see the birth of 'Pam'

we can get donated prizes and then have a 20 a head in tournie, just to pack it out......something like that?

More like "great minds" Karl. Yeah, I thought of that and then I thought to myself "I'd need a group of experienced enthusiastic and cheap tournie organisers... cant think where I might find them... a casino to host the event... dunno where I'd find that... and a big bunch of big hearted poker players..." so I guess I'm out of luck :) )

Hope to announce something weeerrrry interweeesting in the next few days.

Just noticed that the next Boards Beers are on on the 27th of November, that might be a good day to have any big game as we could go on the piss there afterwards...

If this is a twenty euro in tournament, how about advertising it at n00bs as well? I've never played hold'em in a casino (or even by any proper standard of rules) but I'd love to learn. Maybe a n00b table could be manned by a dealer prepared to put up with loads of stupid questions?

And of course, that way a n00b makes the final table so it could result in one of you pros being beaten by beginners luck which would be well funny!

Sleepy, be careful. I think Dopey is using your pc and posting as you :D:D

Am I wrong in my assumption that the winner of each table makes the final table?

If so, oops. Otherwise, it's always possible that the n00b could just get a run of luck to win the final table (or have bullets up his sleeve every time) ;)

Only jokin sleepy. That does happen in a 'shoot-out' format. Each table is its own little tournament and the winners meet at the final table.

However most tournaments are not shootouts. In most tournaments as one table gets short of players, they receive a player from another table. This way, each table would have a fairly similar no of players. Eventually, tables get broken up when they are too small and players from this table are sent to others. This way you end up with a final table of normally 9 players, who could have started at any table.

I'd say you'll be more confused after reading that

Gotcha, makes for faster play that way, I get it. Still, call me bitter but I'd love to see a n00b take the prize from one of the guys that seem to be able to supplement their income with poker!

Just found this thread after I came over with the begging bowl...

Can I make a wee request?

I gather there are plans afoot to organise a fund-raising poker night for the SSF. Good work y'all. Anyway, on the amp=pam=dress wearing thread here, a total of €800 was pledged if amp/pam agreed to attend a poker tournament in drag. Now amp/pam has declined the challenge but laid down the gauntlet him/herself (this is getting confusing, its pam and her from now on...) by challenging the poker community to find a willing substitute.

I don't know if that will go ahead, but it would be a shame to see those pledges go to waste...is there any chance someone will step forward and accept the pam challenge? And will the original pledgers agree to honour their pledges if a willing victim/volunterr can be found?

If that doesn't happen, is there any chance that monies raised from a poker night could be slipped into the pam in a dress fund, to help us reach the target of €3000? Pretty please?

I will do it. I may need some help finding clothes big enough though. I think I would make a great bird. I have 3 conditions though. 1) I won't wear a G-string, I get friction burns on my sack and 2) I will not tongue anyone.

    That pretty much it.

And I was soooo looking forward to that tongueing....

    Interesting 3 conditions...

But seriously, every body move your ass and get over to the thread to see MrP playing in drag, I can assume its going to be at our game coming up soon

Much love (platonic mind... ;) ) to Mr P for stepping up to the plate.

I've suggested he set himself a target of €1500 to be raised to see this happen. Adding that to the growing pam in a dress fund would see us very near to the magical €3000 target...

Think of it as seeing (rather than killing) two birds with the one stone!

Can I ask anyone who's intending to pledge money to do so on the feedback thread so that we can keep track of the money being pledged?
