Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

anyone know of a good region-free (or hackable) player for less than £250.
the alba dvd103 got 5/5 in 'stuff', its region-free (no hack req) and in the argos for £200.

    can anyone do better?

Ok, I've no idea how this translates into punts, but I guess it's still under 250 quid. The Scan SC-2000 player (www.scan.co.uk) set me back 145 quid - 180 or so including VAT and postage - and it's a sweeet bit of kit. DVD playback is superb, it has a DTS decoder, all the outputs you could ever want, a simple region hack from the remote control, and it also plays back audio CDs, Video CDs and - get this - CDs full of MP3s.

Well worth the price of entry.

The player Tescos sells is £219 and becomes region free with just a simple code put in the remote. It is a nice enough player, but I really don't have anything to compare to it.

Are those players able to cope with RCE??

Scan one handles RCE, dunno about the rest of them.

Yeah that Tesco one is going for £199 at the moment. It can bypass RCE, but make sure you get the 750S model and not the 750 (which is having alot of problems with disks). Check out uk.media.dvd newgroup for more info on these players.

Theres this one aswell I'm not sure if it's as good as the scan one but it looks like it has all the same features:

Logix 3000 Multi Region DVD Player
    bigsave Price: £154.99

    http://www.bigsave.com/product.asp?currency=GBP&lang= EN&dept%5Fid=50000147&pf%5Fid=DLGI000001%2DLogix3000Black&SiteID=100

Do any of you with the scan one know if it will do CD+G? Or if theres any other differences between these 2 machines?

Actually that url I gave doesn't give the full specs on that logix machine, I got the full specs off a different site and it had a lot more on it so don't judge it on that.
