Outlook express toolbar gone?

so as the title says the toolbar thing whith all the icons and stuff in it(send/recieve, reply, delete etc) is gone? My parents use it so i dunno how it happened. I figured that it would just be a simple as going to view and there would be the option in there to show toolbar or something, but there wasn't. so can someone…

with outlook express 6 go to View >> Layout >> tick toolbar
