FAI & Fran Rooney

More fun & games in store from the green door brigade today it seems.
Fran Rooney is next for shaving as the individuals with responsibility for finance, performance, marketing & communication have not been appointed.
Yet those that want over 5 years to implement the Saipan report are still about. Some joke organisation & incredible that teams are succeeding in spite of rather than because of them.
In an effort to throw the press rumour goes that about half a dozen hotels have been booked & presumably will have to have meeting rooms paid for.
With this level of incompetence we will be lucky to see lansdowne started not to mind finished by 2010.

I agree Fran Rooney has done a good job its the Old guard that are once again trying to force him out,who do they think can do better? Give him more time.

I'm not sure how good of a job he's done because I'm not in the FAI... But the old guard should all be fired from their jobs. They are just greedy bastards trying to get a more powerful position and who will take the FAI down with them in order to achieve it.

Roy Keane should step in and sort all of the fúckers out.

He's improved the first team's travel,hotels etc,redesigned the logo, website etc,attracted brazil and holland for friendlies etc , He's trying to change it but its hard going when you have the board holding him back to suit their own agendas.
Fran Rooney is a successful businessman and a self made millionaire he's not in there for the money he was brought in to implement the gensis report,he's had two years and he's made changes but until the old guard such as john delaney are out he's always going to have his hands tied.

This is actually making me very angry at this very moment in time. Why fix something that isn't broken? If only we knew what hotel they are holding the meeting at. Maybe there would be a few slaps exchanged.

in a nutshell FAI is a joke needs to be run like a business properly not an old boys club.

The older members who serve no purpose would be removed if it was run correctly, and looks like they cant have that .

I would love to attend some sort of demonstration against the clowns in Merrion square and show support to Rooney.

Wouldnt go that far , he just marginally better than previous top dogs.

Umm we can get tickets to any ireland game we want and they always in the north stand. I been getting Ireland tickets from Pats for over 11 years so i would say no it wasnt him.

But if thats important rather than promoting the game internally and ensuring international teams have the best preparation possible. making sure the commerical side run business lie and not selling out sponsorship for pittances and free holidays and phone lines. But once the El fans are all together in lansdowne. Hmm thats getting knocked down soon , wonder where he will put us then.

Fran Rooney has done a lot, the only thing he hasnt done is

Appoint 4 directors. he said he wants it done but obviously there is some hold up with the old sweats.

He made a pretty light hearted joke about northern Ireland soccer but even nordies will tell you that soccer up there is going nowhere and is in bits.

The only other thing that is bugging them is his "managerial style". Well they did the interviews and obviously knew how he operates, its a bit late now to start complaining about personalities. Anyway, personaliites shouldnt come into it if they are "professional".

One thing that they should have on their website in the new lansdowne road. Something like what Arsenal have, what it will look like on the inside and outside, 3D models etc. Also the actual plans would go down well as well, like where the music section is etc .

This FAI job sounds a bit like Health or Transport. It takes one individual to make all the plans and implement it, then it will take another CEO to lead the organistion afterwards. I know in transport it was just making the plans that was the hard bit but I was just using the example.

Anyway, Rooney should be given to the end of his contract to implement all of Genesis. I can imagine us going to Germany with all of it not fully implemented FFS
