I'm wondering if it's possible to get ppt with having to get office? I downloaded ppt viewer but it's not the maywest cos I need to edit and print the lecture notes. Thanks.

Haven't priced seperate office apps, but it used to be the case that buying Works and Upgrading to Office Standard was cheaper than buying a standalone copy of Excel. The license doesn't allow you to split the apps between different PC's or if OEM, to move it from the PC it came with.

602suite might do as well

If you are a full time student you might be entitled to buy academic version of office - it's only €195 or something.
