Is it Possible to remap a Diesel engine to give less torque and more bhp in a jeep
to give it better acceleration i understand it would involve changing the gear box for diiferent gear ratios

Easy solution as done by top gear or whatever it is called now.... Put a nitrous system in it. :) they put one in a 1.9L diesel golf 5 door 96' and it gave a Honda NSX a good run for its money beating it up till about 40-50 mph. when the honda started pulling slowly away.

yeah saw omething similar on top gear aswell they put nitrous into a 1970ish jag and raced it against 5 or 6 performance cars like ferraris and porches and it destroyed them

More power means more fuelling so it should be possible depending on the fuel injection system being used, it would need to be an electronic system as found on most modern engines.

    As for nox http://www.dieseldynamics.com/dodgekits.htm

It's turbo being used on your diesel engine that determines to a large extent what the torque/hp curve is going to look like. The jeep is/should be used for towing stuff and the manufacturer would've designed the engine to produce buckets of torque using a small responsive turbo for torque and unless you change this or go for a tuning box to remap the ecu or nos or something you'll always have loads of torque but not a huge amount of hp.
