OK pulled most all of this off of 3 different fansites I regularly visit.
SA goes on sale in US tomorrow and OPM has given the title 5/5.

Co-Op Mode - 2 player rampages: either in a car or on foot. The screen is not split. There are also many other two player features, presumably gambling games and the minigames basketball and pool. biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

Use your camera to take pictures of things and save them to your memory card
You must spray over a possible 100 other opposing gang tags around the cities with your own gang sign and a spraypaint can, for a part of the 100%
Oysters are the equivalent of the underwater hidden package, find them all for a reward
Horseshoes also need to be found, (speculation: maybe the new hidden package)?
Full radio listings, to be posted shortly (See other thread on here)
The addition of girlfriends in the game, who'll you'll have to please to get something in return
There is dancing in the game, DDR style, which is used to impress dates
You learn to parachute (either from a plane or base-jumping) from a flight school
There are hovercrafts, and even a forklift
Play poker, craps, blackjack, wheel of fortune, or slots

The annoucement of the following voice actors:

    Carl Johnson - Young Maylay
    Sweet Johnson - Faizon Love
    Ryder - MC Eiht
    Cesar - Clifton Collins Jr
    Kendl Johnson - Yo Yo
    Zero - David Cross
    OG Loc - Jonathan Anderson

    Officer Hernandez - Armando Riesco
    Jizzy B - Charlie Murphy
    T-Bone Mendez - Kid Frost
    Ken Rosenberg - William Fichtner

OK and now for the full tracklisting: have to say I predicted a few of these myself going by the time period the game is set in, but some of the other stuff is surprising, very pleasantly surprising smile.gif

Damn it why didn't they try do something with the multi player, can you imagine driving around smashing into your friends like the old days of GTA, that was my favourite thing about GTA2.....it does seem like a good game though, and rockstar north really can't do much wrong....maybe the PC version(if it happens) will have proper multi player.

Agreed, but OPM's got copywrite on it for now I think. By the time the full version is allowed to be plagiarised, most of us will already have played it.
Maybe someone will scan the pages in on one of the sites but since the yanks'll all be playing from tomorrow on, I doubt it...

    Nice soundtrack yet again.
Good few of them already in my VC mp3 playlist.
Playback FM is the best imo.

    Is there any chat stations?

Day before release and not one review out, odd that normally this would have everyone going "oh its ****e no review copies sent out" but Rockstar get away with it on merit of class games.

Radio:X The Alternative looks the definative choice for me although i might play Radio Los Santos to get me in the mood :)

Would Radio Los Santos mean that certain stations are only available in certain parts of the country? would be kinda cool to pick up different station depending what city your in but could also be a bit annoying if ya liked only one particular station.

I would also hope that theres some sort of funny station ala K-Chat from vice city...

    There's definitely a chat-station. I'll look for a link/evidence in a bit...

On the subject of radio stations only being available in certain parts of the map: it's not going to work like this, but they have some new system which means there'll be different DJ intros for EACH track, depending on when/where it comes on, weather and news bulletins (regularly) and some other innovative stuff.

I bet they've done a real ham German accent for the SF-UR DJ... it should be hilarious! Anyone heard anything about earlier release dates? Although it's probably at the discretion of the supplier...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,909 ✭✭✭✭Wertz

Reading a few things about earlier release dates: as far as I know NDA means retailers simply can't sell early, at least in europe.

Some US suppliers are selling it from 9pm onwards tonight, but only due to some loophole.

I've re-checked Amazon, and they still have 29th as send out day for pre-orders :(

I played the VC multi player, and it wasn't all that well made, some of the weapons didn't work, there wasn't much to do.....What I would have loved to see was just like the single player without the missions, and a few people smashing each other up.

I'm not saying the game will be bad without multi player, but it would be better with good MP. Anyway......is anyone else excited about the prospect of a forklift?

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 51,393 CMod ✭✭✭✭Retr0gamer

If its half as good as shenmues forklift i'll be happy.

The problem with the mp patch was that there would be too much info going between the two machines with regards to the spawning of random objects. If they sort that out and i'm sure rockstar north could it was work brilliantly. Halo 2 just goes to show how great co-op is.

Sounds like its going to be a cross between Leisure Suit Larry, The Sims, and some good old fashioned GTA action. Gaming overdose time...

As if CS : Source wasn't enough already...

    IGN Review -
    9.9
    Gamespot Review -
    9.6

    :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,839 ✭✭✭balkieb2002

I always check out IGN scores espec for PS2 games as i think they give fair review of games, if a games good they'll tell ya if its crap they give it a crappy score, same goes for gamespot review (though i rather IGN over them)

Thats why i'm still in shock @ the review score and am currently reading through the reviews to find out where it losts all those points ;)
