www.musicstore.com ... they can also be slow getting things that are out of stock, but the burst and black les pauls are in stock :)

I usually phone them, not sure how smooth paying with the website is.

I knowyou said you know about chrisguitars etc but surely its worth another look in he has some great deals.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

Yeah, you could have had this one for $1250 if you'd gone for it when I posted the last time

A mate of mine has bought two Les Pauls from him in the last few months, mint condition, excellently set up and no fuss. He reckons he saved at least a grand on each.

    Chris rules.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,034 ✭✭✭✭It wasn't me!

Yeah. I haven't bought from Chris yet but I will whenever I get my next guitar. The deals on that site just can't be ignored. Seriiously, lose theb attitude towards second-hand guitars. Old guitars, especially old LP's, are very valuable and you get nice deals on older ones there.

i look at chris' site all the time but he never seems to have a vintage sunburst guitar, i don't like any of the other colours.

anyways i've now ordered from gak after ringing them again and demanding a stock check, they have one in stock and should be with me by friday.

    it was 1470 including delivery.

i have plans for that 230 euro left over mmmm

also just a quick reply for all your help guys over the past 3 months (esp. docJ, feyla and it wasn't me) without it i'd be lost and end buying an sx guitar from waltons or something.

if you'd like to see pictures of it when i get just say the word and i'll host them up here.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

You're welcome man, hope you enjoy your new guitar. Stick the pics in the What's Your Gear? thread :D

... and some sound samples when you get a chance too!

Edit -> After months of resisting the temptation, I've cracked and put a deposit on this

    I mean, $650... come on :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,584 ✭✭✭✭Creamy Goodness

    oooohh nice man.

i might buy a bass once i get some money, and i'll look at chris' site.

what is the names of them six strings is it like same as guitar as EADGABE?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

Nah, one higher and one lower BEADGC

I already have a six, but I need one to defret. The urge to play fretless is killing me at the moment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,034 ✭✭✭✭It wasn't me!

Methinks it's BEADGC. The Doc will correct me if I'm wrong. :) So much scope for different tunings though. Glad to be of service, though I didn't think I did much.

I'm glad it has a manual. Bit more complicated than I'd prefer but it has a piezo pickup in the bridge which is why I really want it. For that price I'd be stupid no to :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,034 ✭✭✭✭It wasn't me!

Yeah, why get screwed over for your money in this country when it's as easy to buy abroad and save so much. Nice bass too by the way Doc. You'll have to post pics once you've defretted it.

Nah, I think I'll get the defret done by a pro this time. It's alot of fun but you can make shyte of it with just a little bad luck.

just a quick reply to say that it's been dispatched, the smile on my face is so big

3-5 working days better hurry....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,038 ✭✭✭rob1891

What did the delivery come to? Might be buying an ibanez axs32 (opinions welcome) soon enough and they're a good 30 euro cheaper than the germans.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,584 ✭✭✭✭Creamy Goodness

    24 pound sterling.

as you can see there were 230 euros cheaper on my guitar :O

thomann your good but i can't pass 230 euros on that

jetpilot: how fast did the stuff arrive to you?

  • Registered Users Posts: 70 ✭✭trippertds

I got an American Tele off GAK about a year back and delivery was very quick. I'd guess you'll have it by the end of the week

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,584 ✭✭✭✭Creamy Goodness

ohh hoo end of the week sounds great, gives me a bit of time before mid term is out.

It took 4 days for me to get my stuff which I find is fantastic compared to most other online retailers i've used!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,584 ✭✭✭✭Creamy Goodness

    it arrived!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D

    totally exceeded my expectations,

i will have some high quality shot up as soon as my mate comes around with his nikon d70 camera.

took 4 working days to get here and worth every bit of that wait

    Good stuff.

So you like it then ;)

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,362 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

So, did you get that Carvin then?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

Nah, like I said, it was sold two days before I went to put the deposit down. It had been there for months... then it was gone. Bah... Bah humbug! I've found another one, but it's not as cheap, so it'll have to wait for a while.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,362 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

    Ah, excrement occurs.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

Indeed. Ahhh not to worry, that's just the way it goes sometimes.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,362 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

That it does. Get Gerry Hayes to build you one...

    I don't like you.

    :(

tbh this picture here (taken from gibson's site) is very misleading. i was thinking mine would be a bit redder (this a word?) around the edge;s.

    i'm still chuffed though

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,362 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Don't forget they're sprayed by hand....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,584 ✭✭✭✭Creamy Goodness

    that i didn't know. :(

Aye. To the best of my knowledge, all guitars are finished by hand. Even Squiers and Mexican Fenders.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,584 ✭✭✭✭Creamy Goodness

that's kinda cool really makes them unique.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,362 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Well, yeah. That's why you get some really good guitars and some really bad guitars from the same range.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,584 ✭✭✭✭Creamy Goodness

by the way, do you still hate me? :p

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,362 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

You have a nicer guitar than me. It is my business to! :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,584 ✭✭✭✭Creamy Goodness

hehe, now that i've got the guitar i need to sort out a pedal board and buy some pedals.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,362 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Bah, no ya don't. Wah, chorus and a good amp and you're sorted!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,584 ✭✭✭✭Creamy Goodness

yeh i'll stick them on a piece of mdf make it look fancy.

    lol

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,362 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Don't bother with the board tbh. I had it before, more trouble than it's worth.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,584 ✭✭✭✭Creamy Goodness

    quick question,

can you get like three pedals running off one power plug?
