Sourcesafe/CVS/Subversion alternatives

Anyone know any code control systems as an alternative to Sourcesafe, CVS or Subversion??. Sourcesafe doesnt do all we need it to do, and I'd be wary of using CVS or Subversion because they seem to be designed for Unix/Linux and then ported to Windows.

Thats no reason to be wary of them, I believe they are quite excellent ports.
