Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

im a big fan of house funky house compilations....

Ive begun with the help of kazaa and soulseek to look at the sleeve notes of my cds to find the more obscure djs who did tunes on the compliations or to find the original song the funky sample was taken from...

one discovery was Eddie Bo, the Live at the (Heavenly) Social series was what make me fall in love with dance music... funky house good humour, good collection of electic samples... We're Doing It (Thang)-http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/clipserve/B0000075BF001013/0/104-1332434-6624706
    hook and sling..
    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/clipserve/B00005OR5S001009/0/104-1332434-6624706

Live at the Social 3 lead to my discover of Chicks On speed via Eurotrash girl
i also discover the Baliistic Brother number 2 via Peckings

Eddie bo is the sample that goes "Im doing it , What ? My Thang" and "Hook and Sling" on 2 again i think

also the Crooklyn clan with "Yes We Can", which yerman fatscoop seems to like...

im also a big fan of the brassic beats collection, the down on the floor at the boutique (with Be young be foolish be happy by the Tams,http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/clipserve/B00004HYMZ001019/0/104-1332434-6624706), dope on plastic and 2 many djs...

I also have the, back to the breaks with has tracks from Marlena Shaw , a sublime voice with Woman of the ghetto (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/clipserve/B00005OR5S001004/0/104-1332434-6624706) etc and the amazing version of "The beat goes on" with led to the discovery what an amzing song writer Sonny Bono was... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/clipserve/B00005OR5S001001/0/104-1332434-6624706

I also discovered "The Black Scienece orchestra" off a Junior Records Compilation.. and The Velvet Underground too...

I also loved the Manchester with love.net album for the Madchester vibe
    ...

back to funk soul, my brother has load of soul albums but I don't listen to them that often it the the ones like eddie bo and marlene shaw , with there very dramatic and humourous songs which I love with lots of vocal accents and whoops and backing vocal groups... is there a name for this type song/era

theres lots of acoustic sample that all djs use, classic ones that fatboyslim to a tribe called quest will use...(although GMF & FF and Marshell Jefferson probably ued them first) like Apache http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/clipserve/B00000HZE6001014/0/104-1332434-6624706

    oh yeah theres also
the House of Bamboo and the Love Potion number five which i got from a handsome boys modelling school breezeblock mix i think?
you can find some of these tracks on my soulseek folders im honkdub, or listen to previews on amazon
