TDI does about 0 - 100 in 10-11 secs, who cares really, I just enjoy the motor without trying to race and possibly endanger other road users trying to prove a point.

Sure, fair enough but you made a claim it is faster at 0-100 and you were the first to mention 0-100 as a measurement

0-60 in 9s and 0-100 in 10 or 11s? I don't think even the fastest production car could do 60-100 in a second

Previous BMW V8 400BHP M5 takes 11s, current 5.0 liter V10 500BHP M5 takes 10s, the Seat Leon TDI in this range?

That's why I was looking for a link (still haven't found one myself). BMW 325i does it in 19s, my guess for the Leon would be around the 25s-30s mark

27 grand seems like an awful lot of cash for not an awful lot of car

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,413 ✭✭✭HashSlinging

yeah your right, dont know where i got that figure. does 0 - 60 in 7.5 seconds probably around the early 20s to 100. Diesels are more about in gear times..as you say.

Personally I think the minis are pretty darn cool, though I'd go for the grey version with the white cab/stipes/whatever.

    Nice one :D

The very best of luck with it, let us know when you get it

Lol the only bad thing is i have to wait till the start of april before i have it. Hey anyone check out the prices of the new GTI golfs damn man they start at 35K for the 3 door, but great spec and turns over 200bhp with its 2 litre engine (sweet)

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,647 ✭✭✭impr0v

ffs, that's a hell of a wait, did they give you any reasoning for it or is just down to supply not being able to keep up with the amount of orders they have in for '05 cars?

Are you even just a little tempted to send it to John Cooper Garages for the S Works upgrade to 18" wheels and 210bhp? Small cars with way too much power rule!!

Sideways through the backdrop on full opposite lock, knuckles white - eyes shut.....

    'c

That's a very long wait, when I want something, I always want it yesterday :)

    LOL :D

Lol well reason for the wait is they have such a demand and the Cooper still is classed as an introduction car. Hence why you won't get much off even with a cash sale. I would love to get the 210bhp Cooper S but damn man how much would that cost me lol.

As it stands it will be fully leather with 17 inch alloy wheels, lowered hardened suspension (in case i ever need to drive down steps lol) and here is my fave, run flat tires ( in case the cops use a stinger on me )

    Bloody hell, six month wait

But it should be worth it :D:D

I would in my bollox wait that long for a mini.

Get a Gti 306 6 spd. with 130 horsepower and great handling. You`ll be selling the mini on boards a yr after you get it.

The 306 was replaced with the 307 in 2001. The last 306 GTI had 167BHP, not 130BHP. The mini is a hell of a lot faster than the 306 GTI and I've no doubt a lot more fun to drive. It is also cool

/note to self: must go test drive a Cooper S

Errrrrrrr, I have a 306, and think i know that its been replaced by the 307.
I never said buy a new "one".

And 1 of the 306`s gt diesels is 130Hp. And you see a lot of `02 reg 306`s.

Ford did the same with all their Escorts....you'll see a lot of '00 Escorts even though they were replaced by the Focus a few years previous.

    Want that http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=172077&page=3&pp=20 now instead?

Cooler than the Mini -mos' definitely turns more heads.
Last made with pop-up lights ('98 model), no. 259/400.
130bhp, all to the rear wheels (ah...yeah... about that, you'll have to watch it on the wet BTW, softly-softly and all that)
Good for 135-140 mph (against Elise in Belgium).
    15", all leather, 43k miles, 1 previous lady owner - mint in/out.

And only one in Ireland - mine :D

Scoooooooooooooooooooooooooooby anyday - old shape preferably, '99 model before the horrid facelift. I may get rid of the MX-5, but definitely keeping the Scoob' (2L - not turbo though :( - but it was cheap :D )
