Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Win 98SE Wireless query

I have been ‘updating’ an oldish laptop and have installed windows 98se on it and got a new wireless card netgear MA521. It works fine with my wireless router and connects to Clicksilver no problem once I insert the proxy.

Now my question – just as an experiment I brought it into the Kylemore café in the Stephen’s Green center where they have free wirelss internet with any purchase.

The laptop picked up the wireless network ok but It would not connect to the internet.

Given that it needed the proxy to connect to Clicksilver I presume it needed similar to connect in the Kylemore. Of course there was no technnical info available there.

Is there any setting in 98se which would allow it to find the proxy automatically?

I presume everytime someone uses a laptop in a wireless situation like a café or airport they don’t have to insert a proxy?
