Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dave Jones has been sacked as manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers after the club's dismal start to the season.

Wolves, who were relegated from the Premiership last season, lie in 19th place in the Championship having won only four times in 15 matches.

A 1-0 defeat at Gillingham on Saturday proved the breaking point and Jones was informed that he would be dismissed at a meeting with chairman Rick Hayward this morning.

Stuart Gray, the assistant manager, has been appointed as the club's caretaker manager.

Hayward said: "We will always be grateful to Dave for the success he achieved in winning promotion to the Premiership - something several managers before him have failed to do.

"However, having been relegated after just one season in the top flight, the board has been disappointed by the poor start to this campaign.

"It was our wish and intention to make a quick return to the Premiership but performances and results to date have left us off the pace by some margin.

"Therefore, we decided action was needed in order to try to get the season back on track before it is too late.

    Gary Megsons free....;)

    Mike.

It was coming really. I think he is a good manager though, very badly treated by Southampton at the end of his time there.

But results are what make or break managers, and the results just were not there for Jones at all.

Hmm...can't really see him going to the main local rivals of his previous club.

The WBA Fans would crucify him too.
