I have just finished Otherland by Tad Williams. A nice book, nothing too thought provoking and some nifty little ideas.

I'm moving on to The Green Mile (the collected version, not the six 'chap-books' (it's funny I always thought they were called novellas)). It's alright so far. I went off Stephen King but this seems OK. I think the forward was a good read ('wimpy putting the boots to Olive and eating a hamburger at the same time').

I liked his "Dirk Gentlys Holistic detective agency", although the sequal to it wasn't that great.

WWMAn.... yup, Game Over is _very_ good. The interesting **** that went on over at NCL defies belief smile.gif

In a similar vein, Jerry Kaplan's "Start Up" is excellent as an honest profile of all the personalities in Silicon Valley, and what a nasty place it is to work...

I'm reading Helen McCarthy and Jonathan Clement's collaboration, the Erotic Anime Guide, this week. And before you all leer, it's a very good, mature, in-depth look at the Japanese psyche with regard to erotica and pornography, and the western perception of same. And not what the title suggests at all.
