Utv have confirmed that anyone wishing to move between Clicksilver products (either up to Clicksilver plus or down to Clicksilver) has to commit themselves to a new 12 month contract they say this is to help cover their costs and for easier administration.

When Clicksilver plus was introduced there was mention, if I recall correctly, that you could upgrade to Clicksilver Plus free but there would be a charge to downgrade later if you wanted to do so there was no mention of a further 12 month contract being involved. Utv say this was an omission from the T&C's but it will be rectified soon.

Does anyone now what the practise is with the other ISP's who have the equivalent of a plus product? and how legal is it to have an evolving T&C's?

A post to the UTV support group has pointed out -
According to the ADSL Bitstream Price List v1.8 (26/10/04), the cost to move
from one tier to another is:

    Upgrade - 0.00 EUR
    Downgrade - 15.00 EUR

AFAIK the Terms and Conditions at the time of signing are binding. If they mention you can upgrade at any time for free then they have to allow you. IF they don't mention anything then I think you would be screwed.
