Wisconcin for Kerry, Mitchigan for Kerry But he must win Ohio too. Nader has nearly 1% of vote in Wisconcin and he wont stop Kerry.

Hes so far ahead in Ohio, i'd say its just a formality at this stage. Another 4 years of Bush peeps...

Watching CNN here at the moment

Theres only 1500 votes between Bush and Kerry there now with 99% counted

Nader has 3500 there-they are saying he's done the damage.

    New mexico

1,500? Hmm it was 150,000 when i left the house this morning, and that was on CNN

56 million votes to 52 million in the popular vote. So what happened to the recruitment drive? The Ohio vote could last for days, they'll have to go through the provisonal papers I'd say.

    Mike.

Apparently Bush is getting ready to come out soon and announce his victory, without waiting for Kerry to concede defeat (if thats even gonna be the case).

Can Nader off-load his votes or form a coalition of sorts with Kerry?

Yea he hasn't won yet at all. So he shouldn't be declaring it. Democrats are right, everyones vote should be counted even if it means Bush gets more votes.

Kinda symtomatic though of the way things are going...
Again on CNN I've just seen Senator Tom Daschle outgoing Democrat minority leader in the senate losing his seat in South Dakota.
Or rather just about losing it with 99% counted and his opponent declaring victory.

 You need a new contact :p

Ohio and Florida were going to be the main battlegrounds!!!

Turned out this time Ohio was close - not as close as Florida last time

Bush 254 Kerry 252. Wisconcin is now head heat with Nadar the joker in the pack again.

    Mike.

You're going to lead a one man charge againts her ;)

I voted for Kerry but I definitely wouldn't have voted for Hillary. The democrats need to find a candidate with mainstream appeal. Hillary would, in some ways, be the worst possible candidate they could pick.

Ohio is 99% finished and Bush has a lead that can't be assualted, it was over at 2 a.m. this morning. Sorry but that's the truth

No it's not. While it would unusual for Kerry to swing the state, there are only (just over) 100,000 votes in it. Sounds like a lot, but there are still around 1/4 of a million votes left to count, and possibly more.
I'm not being unrealistic, I know Kerry will be lucky to win, but its not over just yet.

So basicly democrats would need roughly 75% of the total absentee ballot. Probably not too likely if either a) the Democrats were also blocking voters or b) any sizeable amount of the blocks are upheld.

Might be more likely that Michael Moore uncovers massive voting fraud on the diebold machines in Florida....

To be honest I'm expecting many conspiracy theories no matter what happens in the next few hours/days/weeks. The way Florida was won so easily was a surprise, but I'm not going to even begin to claim fraud because I dont know.

My scepticism tells me that any claims of fraud by the dems will be ignored, and any claims of fraud by the republicans will be studied carefully. Why? Well the republicans are likely to hold both houses of congress, meaning they will block any possible fraud claims from the dems. If Kerry wins the houses will do what they can to break him down.

(I just heard an anti war movement in Ireland are going to picket outside the US embassy tomorrow against the re-election of Bush... muppets! I dont want to see him win, but if it happens it happens, you can't try and protest against the will of the American people... unless they can prove the result was not the will of the American people)

I dont have that luxury... I have my politics class on Thursday!! :D

BBC state that Bush now has a lead of around 130,000 votes in Ohio... thats made it tighter by around 10 - 20,000 votes. Lets hope this keeps up :D

/edit BBC also state that there are around 140,000 provisional ballots still to be counted, meaning Kerry would need to get 95% of them or so. Word is he's due to concede some time today. :(
