Remember, all of these are only projected results for the time being. Nothing is final yet. No states have formally called a result.

Yup and they're not likely to until well into the morning. However its unlikely to be in contention except in the swing states.

True.... but they are quite accurate, right?
They can be, but a lot of these results are based on exit polls. Soem of the data we're looking at now is coming from places where the polls literally only closed a quarter of an hour ago.

Apparently there's two hour lines of people waiting to vote in Ohio - I wouldn't hold my breath for a definitive result.

Kerry seems to be leading by a significant margin among new voters which is good but only slightly ahead in women voters which is bad. These are all heavily Republican states though.

South Carolina partial results say Bush leads 62.6 to Kerry's 36.8.

Souct Carolina is also projecting a heavy Bush lead (62%)

Hmm that 35/3 thing is worrying, although I know there's no surprises yet. I hope Bonkey won't be annoyed if I have to repeatedly post "Ah BOLLOCKS!" in the morning.

Not getting good vibes so far (was hoping Kerry might get an early upset), but there's a long way to go yet.

  • Registered Users Posts: 43,901 ✭✭✭✭Basq

Am getting more and more nervous as this goes on..... that lead by Bush is quite intimidating, even though it is early days!

According to CNN, data is starting to come in from Ohio, but nothing deterministic yet.

  • Registered Users Posts: 580 ✭✭✭kencleary

Bah keep calm. Essentially it will come down to who takes 2 out of 3 of Ohio, Florida & Pennsylvania.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 15,552 ✭✭✭✭GuanYin

Lads don't read into the 39-3 scoreline, thats quite normal. Kerry will take the East coast city states and it will level out. Wisconsin and Ohio will be the ones that give an indication of how it will go...

Courts are coming into play already - Democrats have asked Judges in Ohio to keep polls open past deadline. Result in next few minutes apparently.

Amazing how the fate of nations hang on such slim threads.

I can see Kerry storming to victory when the East coast votes get counted. Cali is like 55 votes?

Also worth noting, Texas is 34 votes.

No turnovers yet at all so wouldn't worry about it too much. Anything else would indicate a completely unprecedented Democratic landslide

Try to keep it under four if necessary:)
