BABYSHAMBLES will play their biggest tour to date next month.

The group, fronted by former Libertine Pete Doherty, will play at the London Forum on December 13 as part of a tour that includes the group’s first Irish dates.

The band, who completed a sold-out tour of the UK last month, will release new single 'Killamangiro' on November 29.

Tickets for the gig go on sale today (November 2).

    The full tour dates are:

    Belfast Limelight (December 11)
    Dublin Village (12)
    London Forum (13)
    Glasgow Barrowlands (14)
    Blackpool Empress Ballroom (15)

Will either be a spectacular gig or a spectacular failure.......either way spectacular :D

To be honest I don't like the babyshambles stuff, musicallly its definately nothing special to me, and lyrically not as good as the libs stuff.

Still would be interesting for the 'Pete experience'.

He's still in the Libertines isn't he? He's just not allowed out on tour with them owing to ongoing 'difficulties' with smack. Not that he'll have any difficulty getting any in Dublin.

anyone know how much tickets are? and what's the village like re under 18s?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,592 ✭✭✭Ro: maaan!

It's highly unlikely under 18's will get in.

when u say its highly unlikey does that mean i am definitly screwed or might get in??? my older sister will bring me and shes 22 so could i get in with her.
    they are 18.50.

Well... look at the ticket an see if it says anything on it about age. (Or ask before you buy it.) There's a chance it will be under 18's accompanied. But it's usually just over. Anything I've been at there has been over 18's except one. That was Stiff Little Fingers about a year ago. Said accompanied on it, but when I went up to the door they told me that was a mistake and that it was over 18's. They offered a refund and all. Luckely I was over 18. But I thought it was kinda ****. It's owned/run by the same people as Whelan's is. And that's ALWAYS over 18's. Spent a half an hour arguing with a bouncer there about it. Lost.

Alright just looked it up on Ticketmaster and it says over 18 ID required for this gig. Then if you go to the Village page there, it says no under 18 after 9.

  • Registered Users Posts: 340 ✭✭legofsalmon

I will sympathise with you guys, i'm under 18 too.

But there is no chance of getting into the village unless you are over 18.

It really is the worst place for ID, I never get IDed in town, the only place that has done it in the past 2 years is the village, and I was on a guestlist and all. Only got in cause i convinced the bouncer I was working at it, which i was, and he finally let me in! :S

    Hello there
I'll come from France to see babyshambles performing in dublin.. The pb is that I'm only 17 ans I've read that an ID is required.. :(
I dunno how I'll do; I know anybody in dublin and I really really want to see them !
May someone could help me pls ??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,059 ✭✭✭memaeve

Borrow ID people, that's really your best bet. And whatever you do, DON'T go in with someone who looks young, even if they are over 18. Best is to go alone, or with someone who's well over 18 and looks it.
    G'luck, ;)

    hmm okay
thank you very much; I'll try that :)

I'm 17 and was refused admission on Thursday (into the Village) for the Revs gig.Everybody was asked for ID- even people who looked in their 30's.It's quite ridiculous,so my mission for the week is for fake ID.

You really have no hope.I had 5 people involved with the revs on my side, but the security/manager wouldn't budge. It's sickening, but all the best. :D

Hope has come you are saved... :(

It really depends on the bouncer. I was let in a good few times without any trouble when I was 17, but then there were also times when they kicked up a fuss.

    Yes,but when was this?

This **** only started this year really, because of the new orwellian-law that came in, stating that under 18s aren't allowed into pubs after 10pm,which basically means that you can't attend a concert in Ireland until your 18th birthday.

    :D What a country!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,059 ✭✭✭memaeve

Yea, I turned 18 just after that law came in, so I suffered it for a while too, but like I said, if you're lucky you won't even get asked. Depends on the bouncer.

the village is pretty strict though. if it's for a gig... i dunno... haven't been there at one since the laws came in, but generally they check everyone.. and no amount of "i promise i won't even drink" will get you round them..

was at this gig last night, f**king ace!!!

total mayhem! pete came out looking fairly respectable, jacket, shirt. by the end he was bare-chested with his shirt in rags!

he was diving into the crowd throughout the whole evening, there was stage-diving, crowd surfing. more than i've seen at any other gig. crowd were totally up for it, totally packed house, kept getting lifted off my feet by the swell of the crowd!
towards the end he announced "there's three of them (security) and all of you. Come on up!". At this point he started hauling people up onto the stage! People started clambering onto the stage aswell, and it got stormed. have to sasy the security were pathetic and should have been better organised as it got dangerous at times.
    Fantatastic gig!

Oh yeah, the music was pretty good aswell!

Sounds brilliant. I was gonna go, but decided not to in the end. The bouncers/security there are among the worst. I would have liked to have been there for that alone. Many Libertines songs played?

Agreed - i was there last night and it ****ing rocked!!! At the end they did Killamangiro and What Katie did Next and you could visably see the crowd lift off the floor. Pete kicked arse - total performer. The band were surprisingly tight too. Gig of the year for me definitely. I was still singing this morning! The Libertines are gonna regret losing him - Babyshambles could easily eclipse their success - the songs were cool and quite memorable. And true to form, Pete and the gang were accepting streams of fans onto the tour bus after the gig and not just the fine young ones! ****ing deadly night.

Last nights gig fcuking raawwked! One of the best I have been to.

Pete and the band were on top form last night. I saw Pete earlier on in the bar and he looked very different. He was dressed in alot of black and certainly did not look the most healthy person you'd ever seen but when he came on stage he looked his usual self.

I noticed quite a few people didn't get in without I.D. and even though I'm 18 and had my passport the bouncer seemed for a minute like that he wasn't gonna let me in. He asked me for my date of birth and after a long pause he let me in, what a relief!

Everyone was soooo up for it and that added so much to the gig as a whole. I had three people surfing on top of me at one stage and at times I did think things were getting a little out of hand. At the end of it I finally got on the stage thanks to the rubbish security. One of them chucked me off the stage and I smacked heads with some other bloke which wrecked.

Pete jumping off the top of the amp was definitely the moment of the night. F**k Forever sounded amazing but I twas a bit dissapointed that ''What Katie Did'' was the only Libs tune played. If ''Time for Heroes'' or ''Don't look back into the sun'' was played the night would have been even more special.

After the gig there were some twats hanging on to the trailer of the bus as it was driving away which was very funny!

I realised last night that Pete is a living legend!

    Heard it was brilliant alright.
He stuck his head out of the tourbus afterwards and played a bunch of Lib's songs with the 'aul acoustic.

Proper Mental night, how long were they actually on stage for? Maybe it just flew in but it seemed like only 40 minutes or something!!! Was the gig actually supposed to finih at that point when the punters took over the stage, I was under the impression that it wasn't :D ! ?

    Amyone got/remember the setlist?

Pity I didn`t stumble across this site before last night! Im 17 but like 18 in 2 weeks but the bouncer still would`nt let me in.

We were hanging about the door and my mate says hes going around the front to see whats going on. Just as he gets to the corner who does he bump into! only Pete himself! my mate told him we could`nt get in and he goes "ill do my best mate". SO he goes up to the door with about 20 of us telling the bouncers that he has a couple of mates that he would like to get in but still the bouncers were having none of it! They said we could get in if we were on the VIP list we could get in. So pete ****in legs it back around the front with us pegging it behind him and juts before he got onto the bus he tell us he`ll get us on the list. Then some roadie came out and took our names but that the bouncers said there were to many of us.

Just before the gig was about the start he comes out of the bus with the bouncers rapped tight around him, but he broke free and started legging it like a mad bastard and at the stage entrance he trys to get us in again but to no avail and he looked genuinely sorry! he looked upset. I can`t believe even Pete ****ing Doherty could`nt get us in!

Ive never had a problem with going to a gig before so I didnt bother borowing an ID, Im really disapointed now I would`ve loved to have got in. Iw as at The Zutons on Saturday and everyone was alowed in and id you had ID you got a strap to buy alchol. Why can`t they do this for every gig? Its only music not a ****ing porno and anyway once we got in the last thing we would be thinking off would be about getting drink and besides we wouldnt be able to afford it!

but, are you not sotra glad you didnt get in? i mean, look at the experience you had with pete doherty! me jaysus i wish i couldve gone!

Well it was a consolation but I would`ve traded that for getting in any day. Just look at what Timothy says, pete is a mess he`ll be lucky to be alive for me to see him again and if he is he`ll **** it up with the band or something.
