    Hi,

Just wondering what is the make of the ADSL modem that IOL supply as part of their 3 month trial. Does it have an ethernet port on it or just USB?

Make is a ZyXel Prestige 643

Usb and Ethernet connection. You can use both at once!!

    Thanks gibo_ie,

Also does it support DHCP because i was thinking of connecting a wireless ap to the modem and was wondering if it can assign ip addresses to the laptops automatically.

    Thanks

The only difference having the R or an M at the end just distinguishes between a Router or Modem. This can be changed by telnetting to it and changing route to NO and bridge to YES or vice - versa. Thats why we just refere to them without the letter!

Ah but bridge wont work through that router to a pc. :)
