Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Go in, place €4.40 on the counter and ask the jolly-looking keeper of meats for a "Kebabmeat & Chips With Curry, Cheese and Chili".
    A 'Please' is optional, but advised.
    Should you proffer a Please, a 'Thank You' is usually expected in accordance with Chippy etiquette.

    I strongly suggest you allow sufficient time for the cheese to melt and meld with the curry, and purchase a soft-drink other than Coke.
    I have no pity for people who are foolish or wilfully ignorant enough to have coke accompany their curry dish.

    Report back here with your opinions.

    If all goes to plan, this shall be on the menu soon enough, and may also be orderable by uttering the phrase "GalwayLAN Special".

    All going to plan that is....

    No it isn't. Man was not made to suckle at the teat of a cow.

    Beer works, and has done for centuries.

    Go in, ask for a "three thirty", you get a burger with toppings of your choice (including kebab meat!), chips with curry and/or coleslough (spelling?), with cheese available at a reasonable extra price, and a can of coke or club orange.

    Cost = 3.30
    Verdict = yum

    que

    Also known as "The Burger Meal".
    "Toppings of your choice" only applies when the surly English gent isn't serving you.

    This I must agree with, in part.

    Red wine with Tex-Mex is also good.
    Sangria is better.

    You keep telling me this, but I've been in there many a time and have not once heard it being called a "burger meal" it's always "three thirty please" "alroight thrai thur'ee, whadya wont on et?".

    I blame political correctness.

    Syx, you know that we're really bad at spelling and grammar in general and that people who speak in text language are actually correct.

    How many times has that Kebab shop being closed by the Health Inspectors?

    You're risking your life eating in there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,147 ✭✭✭Ronan|Raven

    Well after many many years of eating there I still find myself oddly alive? No more risking it than superknacks.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 31,967 ✭✭✭✭Sarky

    Microbes are a far more civilised danger than some drunken skanger shoving a bottle in your face, alright.

    Hygiene etc. is better in chain fast food joints. Of course the food is everybit as ****e, but there you go.

    I'm sorry if I offended anyone's delicate sensibilites.

    It is ok I accept your apology ;) In all seriousness they were closed down a few years back allright, I dont think there has been any closures for a long time now under current management?

    Kebab houses scare me, you know that big piece of meat that spins? when they close up at night, where do they put that meat? Correct me if im not mistaken but reheating meat over and over again is bad for it?

    Just Curious.

    And just so you all know ENDAS kicks all your wimpy asses!!!

    It's been a while since I was in the 'Bab house. Must visit again soon...

    The infamous "meal deal" or "three ten" now costs €3.50!

    Twas €3.10 for so long, then they went up to €3.30 and there were the jokes about asking for a "three ten" and paying €3.30 (tied in with the asking for a tennor credit paying €11 gags), but €3.50!

    I'm reconsidering walking down there before I head up to the snooker hall....tis not so incredibly cheap anymore.
