Hi,

Also, what benefit is registering as a sole trader as opposed to a ltd company ? Both can get vat numbers but both have to file returns etc.. meaning that you need an accountant anyway ?

It costs €295 to start a company. www.businesscompanyformations.ie will explain it all. You have to get accounts and file annual returns each year.
