Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi there,
Just saw Man on Fire last night, was struck by the ending and what appeared to be a suggestion that it was based on true events.
Does anyone know the background, or is it just fiction based on the ongoing kidnappings in Mexico?

I know that its based on a novel by A.J Quinnell and is a remake of a 1987 film with the same title

There's no definite answer about whether its based on a true story or not but the novel was set in Italy. General feeling is that its just the film makers looking to make it more interesting.....

Yeah, I dunno. I taught that too !

It seemed from the ending that it was bassed on a true and recent story.
