Hi Guys, just got upgraded from 512 to 1 meg on IBB and have to say the difference in speed is huge . I was on 8.1 contention on 512 and now averaging 800 kbps ( from an average of 40) with a contention of 20:1.

Big difference and as you can imagime i'm well pleased, would recommend anyone on 512 to upgrade ASAP , musc smaller and neater ant too.

Any Killester-Mast IBB users in here? I did a search, and rather than drag up old posts I'll just post here ;)
Tony - I assume you're getting very low pings on the Breeze service?

I'm in Coolock, and my IOL broadband is up at the end of this month, and I want a 1meg line :)

Before you count your IP packets, wait until the evening. That's when the fun starts.

Tony, can you keep us updated about the quality of the your connection over the next few weeks. Especially if the pings start to degrade. This seems to be a recuring symptom of IBB after someone gets a fresh install.

well it was a month from time of order and I had to chase them about it
They changed the dish from the wire to a plate ant and changed the power supply and patch cable, took about an hour, longest delay for the guys was trying to get thru to IBB to sign off on the job

Just wondering do IBB test the connection to your network? Just thinking that i've got a complex enough network setup here so would it be advisable to maybe have a laptop on hand with a standard ethernet port just to check it's all working without having to mess with the router etc. at that stage?

Yup Red Alert, I got the 1mb installed last Friday. The engineer tested the cnx with his centrino laptop and left me to hook it up to my network then as I saw fit... getting pings of about 14ms to boards.ie although downloads are all over the place.I'm told they are having capacity problems here in Cork and it should be sorted out soon (???) hmmmm

Ring them up and hassle them, they told me at one point I had asked for a postponement which I had not
