"Established over twenty-five years ago, the No Name Club is a voluntary organization working around the country providing an alternative to the pub culture for young people."

In my area, the no-name organises rip off discos and that's pretty much it. The hosts and hostesses go places and get awards. Two of my friends on here are hostesses.

No-Name clubs set up disco. Other No-Name clubs as well as local youths are welcome to these discos sometimes your no-name club organises a bus to other no-name cludb discos and so on....

    *hangs head*

So yeah the no name club. Sounds like fun alrite, but i can see with the general attitude of most ''cool'' kids it would be seen as ''uncool'', much like CTYI is i guess. Anyone have any experience of this prejudice?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 619 ✭✭✭pinkpimp

Who hasnt? I've been getting solid abuse for months now (although mainly because things I own have become pinker and pinker since). The solution is to look all smug, like you would if you knew something that they dont know. You know the look. Its the 'I scored you're hot girlfriend behind your back, and now you're gloating about her, but I'm not going to tell you' look.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,709 ✭✭✭StupidLikeAFox

I actually meant as regards no name club, but yeah, that approach is generally the most effective i find alright.

(why am i so articulate today?)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,880 ✭✭✭Raphael

Ah...that look. The concept of the No-name is great, and being a host/ess sounds like great fun if you enjoy discos and the ilk

Why would you want to go to a non-alcoholic disco when you can just stay in and go on the internet, and turn out like me?

    Good point.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,880 ✭✭✭Raphael

Or, to a lesser extent, me

    Very good point

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,034 ✭✭✭✭It wasn't me!

    Bah, discoes.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭PurpleFistMixer

Phh, discos? Don't even begin to compare with the internet. (Aside from the CTYI discos, everything about CTYI is automatically just great)
