Broadband without phoneline

I finally got Irish broadband to come out to my house today, only to be told that I can't get a signal from their transmitter in killester, even though I only live about a 20 minute walk away, and their map on their website shows their signal going WAY past where I live, I'm not even half way. Is it possible to get a high speed internet connection where I live (Artane, northside dublin), without having to pay for a stupid phoneline? It seems NTL only cater for privilaged parts of the southside. I'm not paying for a phoneline, that involves dealings with eircom who I'd never give a penny to. Apparently ESAT can hook up your phoneline now too but I really don't want to go down that road. Are there any other options?
