Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Backyard Fed

I just got a pm from a new user here at boards.ie - asking me would I be interested in setting up a "wrestling club"

From the way the pm was structured, it sounds like nothing more then a damn backyard fed - there was no mention of trainers, insurance, etc

I advise anyone who has gotten this pm to ignore it - if you want to train as a wrestler then find a place with Irish Whip or NWA Ireland - or failing that ring the sports association of Ireland find an amateur group to train with (i think there is one out in blackrock)

er no if you bothered to re-read the the pm, you will see exactly what he/she wants to do - its not just a club, he plans on, and I quote

"record a wrestling show on camera"

Now pardon me, but without the proper training, people are liable to get hurt.

And if that makes me a "hater", then you are a muppet

to "phenom" i think you should think about what you say before you actually say it.When i advertised this proposal,do you actually think i would write a book about insurance and trainers etc.....no.in fact insurance issues would be dealt with venue owners and club managers.as far as trainers are concerned,I am in the process of contacting them as i am still looking and recruiting potential members.

as for recording purposes,I intend to have fun while wrestling and so that wrestlers can watch their matches.its not like backyard wrestling crap in america where barb wire and glass are used.

plus we are non extreme and members who are uncomfortable with certain moves or anything are not forced into anything.

I don't think its your place to tell anyone what they should and shouldn't do.

LOL that's the biggest pile of pig crap i've ever heard!
Insurance is down to the promotion, thats why trainees generally hock up a yearly fee when signing up! Venue Owners/Managers won't touch that end with a 20 foot barge pole!

Insurance is souly down to the promotion, full stop, no questions asked.

    Define BYW:

Wrestling in an unsafe atmosphere. Where the wrestlers are not trained and have no sence of wrestling psycology. BYW does not have to be in a garden or have anything to do with Hardcore wrestling.

What BLACKBELT is trying to start up is Backyard Wrestling personified.

You have no respect either, as you are blatently flaming and acting unbelievable immature. You are not a wrestler, promoter or with an attatude like that, even fit to run a club.

BYW and Pro-wrestling are 2 totally different things. Ie: BYW is an insult to the fans and training that a Pro-wrestler goes through.

I agree with Hanza about the insurance 100% I booked places for NWA Ireland and the first thing you are requested to do is to produce the companys insurance.
I suguest Black Belt that you should join one of the 2 REAL companys and watch how everything is done and also get some training because if something goes wrong you are screwed!!

Some companys just insure you for a broken neck and thats it. Others will give you full insurence but another way of doing it is by life insurance and private medical.

Overall you cant have a show unless you are completely covered

Would like to thank Hanza and donkey2002 for backing up what I rightly pointed out. :)

Em, they started training properly when the opportunity was there, IWW, NWA-Ireland, and WIN (remember those guys?) weren't always around!

Not only are NWA-Ireland doing well for themselves, but so are their main trainers, Devitt and Tracey. Go to one of the NWA-Ireland shows and check out the straps they'll be showing off.

Not bad for a bunch of backyarders eh?
Here's 50 euro cents, buy a clue mate...

    Demonknowsall,

Smarais does not support backyarders. I know what you are getting at, and it is totally uncalled for. You are trying to stir bad feelings. I havent found your comments (totaling 6) so far to be very mature.

Wise up, and stop stiring shit. Thats a warning!
