First off it was not a direct link to porn. It was a link to a site which had many cool images and also a soft porn sections.

Secondly its not like the admins don't keep an eye on those forums.

Third its abite piss poor to shut down a forum and not at least say why it was shut down or give a warning first. In the past we have shown that we can take care of these types of things in house so to speak without it going all over boards.

Finally, it's a private forum, where most of the members know each other from boards beers/college/whatever, I doubt theres anybody under 18 in there.

Az actually done a pretty decent job moderating that place for all its worth.

I see and could you tell me why, this kind of content has been tolerated for years on illuminati.
From the very first weeks on illuminati it was made clear what was and was not to be posted there,I've seen no deviation from that by it's loyal members, nada none nothing in the time I've been there.
There has been one banning and that was moderation in action.

What do you mean you've discussed this with cloud. while I'm impressed that he blessed you with a private audience, he hasn't seen fit to make his views on this matter public, in either the forum itself or this thread. So forgive me if I don't take your word on this matter. Illuminate has been around for a long long time, the content hasn't changed such since it was founded.

Well , as I've said,I've never seen porn on illuminati-just models/arty stuff.
If anything questionable was ever posted there it got deleted.
So I don't see the justification for the close down.

If there were links to soft porn on the site tusky linked to in a thread there, why not have the page reference deleted in the normal way and a stern warning or a weeks ban or whatever to Tusky.
Why punish the entire invited illuminati section of the boards community, particularally when their postings are moderated and private

To be totally fair on this issue, one would have to have to ban google, given that any child can unclick moderate safe search when surfing that site opening up a world of p0rn.

Illuminati and Slydice Specials are two different forums. One is for a group of people who have been around here a good while, who wanted to talk about (legal) stuff that would be a bit strong in the public areas and the other is for Slydice Specials (threads with bootiful babes/blokes in them).

I dunno whats goin on here though... :eek:

I'd be all for the heavy moderation of any pictured sexually explicit material even on a private forum, by that I mean , well you know what I mean ...

But in a private environment , censoring FHM type material, boobies some ass and adult discussion on what goes on between the sheets and a host of other things best suited to a consenting audience limited to those that expect to see what is presented ... nah thats a bit parental to be honest in my humble opinion.

The difference with the two forums is that Slydice special was made well aware of its existance by the fac that those lovely little threads that used to pop up on after hours are now contained in their own isolation chamber/forum.

The Illuminati is, well, you know. and therefor can not be talked about...

Maybe it was a bit parental, but maybe that's also why Daddy Cloud doesn't want to give any of his children more special treatment than others, so to be fair on Slydice Specials I wanted to have the Illuminati charter remove the "p0rn is okay" bit. I'll reopen the forum so that can be done. And when/if a forum request was made for Illuminati, I don't remember anyone saying that p0rn was the purpose for creating it, so perhaps it was only a few threads but maybe they should have been moderated. tuxy, you squealed - don't blame the law

I can't remember a direct link to porn every been posted on that forum, without the moderator stamping on it. Some of the site linked where risque but thats all. The only image every posted up where of the slydice variety.
