Ricky Gervais - Animals (The show itself is quality, but the bonus commentary he does on it had me in stitches)
Des Bishop - Live at Vicar Street (Aint bad either)

well he has this one about an englishman an irishman and a scotsman and its sooooo funny i dont remember how it starts though

you should go to one of his shows, seems most people at the shows laugh when he starts talking, i think its funny, i class that as comedy

    Billy Connolly :)

Robin Williams - Live from the coliseum... he's totally off his head but it's fantastic
Also I was never a fan of the show but Jerry Sinefield live from New York is the funniest stand up I've seen in a long time, the dvd is called telling it for the last time and is region 2 so you'll have to decode your dvd player but it's simple enough to do and is well worth it!

You could also have a look at Bill Baily, very good!!

    Tommy tiernan
    Des bishop
    Denis Leary
and last but not least, Billy Connelly! :D

    Henry Rollins: Musician-cum-comedian
Seen his stand-up once, was pretty good. Stories about his own life and experiences.

    Eddie Izzard- Glorious
Bill Hicks - One Night Stand
Lee Evans - A few different shows of his are good.
    Billy Connolly
    Chris Rock
Just getting in on Peter Kay at the moment, recommended to me by me ma! ;)

Ricky Gervais live is painfully unfunny, avoid it bigtime !!!!

    Bill Bailey - Bewilderness

Bewilderbeast.... hilarious, especially the chaucer poem about three guys going to the "pubbe in seach of revelrie"

    denis leary
    bill hicks
    dylan brown
    ross noble

    avoid the following

Des Bishop: one joke merchant.... gee, isn't Ireland different (and therefore bad)... god i couldn't say enough bad things about that w****r

Jack Dee: likewise, but his joke is; i hate everything

ardal o'hanlon: i'm very innocent and a bit thick

robin williams: some of his stuff is funny, but he always gets all apple pie throughout

Billy connoly - World tour of ireland england and wales
    Eddie murphy - Raw
    Eddie murphy - Delirious
