Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Morning all!

anybody care to comment on how long it now takes to complete a journey on the N7/M7 route to Limerick on a Friday evening? With Monasterevin out of the way, it must be a whole lot better.

I got down to my homeplace near Charleville, via Limerick from the North Side of Dublin in three hours, it took just under 2 1/2 hours to get to Limerick, left at 8:20pm so all roads were clear.
Got up from Mitchelstown Sunday in under 2 hours, traffic was busier (7-9pm) and was driving a bit faster.

Thats great, almost as fast as the train then, although that doesn't say much for our somewhat slow rolling stock! There is still a long way to go for infrastructure development in this country, but now it does look as if some of these new road developments are finally beginning to relieve traffic congestion, makes you feel that your motor tax is finally paying dividends.

Monasterevin must have been the worst traffic bottleneck in the country and now it is a thing of the past.

Now all we need is M7 all the way to Limerick, M8 all the way to Cork, M6 all the way to Galway, M1 all the way to Belfast, M9 all the way to Waterford.
A metro for Dublin, second terminal for dublin airport and a rail link to the city, widen the m50 and Naas N7, upgrade the M50 interchanges to fly overs. New Dart lines, upgrading capacity on existing commuter rail lines, new luas lines, park and ride sites, new city buses and routes.

Somethings have been done and a lot more to do! Ah well at least there are signs that we are moving in the right direction.

Betcha a euro there still will be transport problems (and people bitching and whining about them on boards) when all that is done :)
