Hey i got my lip pierced to one side 3 weeks ago with a ring with the ball on it. Just wondering when it will heal fully? Will i ever be able to take it out i.e. for job interviews and it wont close up? Also when and how can i replace the ring with a ball to just a ring? Where can i get jewelry like this?
Ok thanks to anyone who replies :D

    Usually 6-8 weeks

As for the interview thing that will be a fair bit of time away when you are able to do that for long periods of time, I had mine done two months and I remember it closing up to the point of I couldnt put it back in after an interview that was half hour long.

i think you can do that once the inside of the mouth heals. i was gonna do it but the ball's grown on me, snake bite sell the ring but its around €20-25 as i remember him telling me whereas the ball ring is about €6? not really worth it when all ya have to do is keep the ball tucked behind your lip

you can buy segment rings off the net. They work the same as rings with balls but it's a continuous segment that clips out.

Ebay might be a good place to look

he may as well get it from the piercers where he was pierced considering that it will have to be fitted.

You should also use ring opening pliers to adjust the tension so the segment slips in and out easily (it will be VERY tight when you get it).

I got my lip pierced at the end of July with a stud rather than a ring. I had a job interview in October for which I figured it would be best to take it out. I had to go back to the shop to get it taken out since it was on so tight I hadn't a prayer of getting it off with my two hands :) Putting it back in was awkward too since it hurt a bit. But then again I'm probably a big girly wuss :p

I would agree with the other posters about buying the other jewelery from the same place that you got pierced. I'd also like to commend Metalworks in Galway on their after-sales service. The staff there are pleasant, know their stuff and are more than willing to help you out.
