    It takes a while for views to be updated AFAIK.

    Can occur with that kind of big count if boards is a bit overwhelmed and people manage to get their posts through, and then the server times out when it's trying to return them to the thread.

    I've done it a few times, posted a thread with zero views. Basically, post the thread/post, then close the window, and your subsequent view won't be counted.
