Aye, got it here in town very handy. :D

Spheres is cool, but very different to Testimony Of The Ancients. I see what you mean about giving it a few spins though, when I first stuck it on, I thought "WTF? This sucks!" but I left it on all day, really got into the groove.

Yeah it's very different to anything else they've done. It's love it or hate it and that's the album that was their undoing. Unfortunately they got a crap reception to that album and since it was the direction they wanted to follow at the time, it didnt make sense to continue.
It think it's a brilliant album and love the fact that it's outrageous "jazz death" (whatever) - it's just so good, imo.
But yeah, it takes a few spins. It took me longer to get used to the vocals on that album more so than anything else.

I think Testimony is definetly their best though.

Afternoon all, I'm back from my boards hiatus with some nice new CDs:

    Death - Symbolic
    Depeche Mode - Violator
Angelo Badalamenti - Un Long Dimanche de Fiancelles
Stereo Total - Do The Bambi
    Isis - The Red Sea
    Mastodon - Remission
    Daft Punk - Homework
    Foetus - Love
    Neurosis - Times of Grace
    Brian Wilson - Smile
Antony and Current 93 - Live at St. Olave's

That the new Stereo Total one? Saw them in Halle in Eastern Germany about 5 years ago. Yer one was doing a reading from a book she wrote. Twas all in German and I didn't understand a word. She also has a stupidly thick French accent so none of the Germans knew what she was saying either. Then she and the bloke from the band rocked out for an hour or so. They can be a bit hit and miss but they do have their moments :p

Oh yeah, just waiting for some Cryptopsy, Mithras and the first Sanctuary album to arrive :)

If you like that one then get Grace by Tribes of Neurot. The two albums are designed to complement each other when played together.

Yeah it's the new one. Well one of the new ones, it's available in three different languages, mine is the French one. They supported the Strokes in the Olympia a few years ago. They were far more entertaining then the headliners (I think I was in a minority in thinking that though). The new album is a bit disappointing but some of the tracks are excellent.

Yeah, I was looking at ordering that. Reminds me of Zaireeka by the Flaming Lips, same idea but with four CDs.
