    Metallica - Black

Including "The Best Of..." albums is probably cheating, but U2's best of the 80's album is up there...

Nevermind is good, but not THAT good.

Since the dawn of mp3's and especially Napster I have bought few albums. The last on I bought was the disapointing Surrender - Chemical brothers.

that's great if you can get what you want online but in fairness some bands just aren't that popular.
look at what i think are last years two best albums, smog's "knock knock", and radar brothers "the singing hatchet" now it's hard enough to get these in a regular record shop but online it's even worse. and maybe cos they were released this year you will find them (eventually -even though napster is good). but how about thier back cataloges. unlikely.
i could go on all day about this but i still have a load of mp3s and the situation is getting better, but despite what anyone says to me i'll stil be going into road records on monday to buy some new records

I'm sure Andy has been waiting for this, (by the by, that copy of Blue Album is mine, and I need it copied)
    My favourites are:

Up, New Adventures In Hi-Fi, Life's Rich Pageant by R.E.M.
    Gracelands- Paul Simon
    Doolittle- The Pixies
Crash, Live at Luther College - Dave Matthews Band
    Nevermind- Nirvana
    Ophelia- Natalie Merchant
    Whatever- Aimee Mann
    OK Computer, Bends- Radiohead
    Blur- Blur
    Boys For Pele- Tori Amos
Sgt. Peppers- 4 lads from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania
My Way, The Best Of Frank Sinatra

I could go on forever. But won't. This list is far too contemporary, but I am 18, and have only a limited experience of music.

There have been some mighty fine albums produced in the past e.g automatic for the people, mellow gold etc...
But my personal favourite is Nevermind by Nirvana.

No, I'm afraid that while Half Man Half Biscuit were indeed fine, excellent and brilliant, my moneys on Stump with the EP Quirk Out. I mean, how many songs include such tactful observations as:

'And don't go mad if your gonads are unfortunatly hung
They're for breeding with your partner while you're breathing through your lungs' (Everything In Its Place)

Even the Biscuits couldn't touch that!!
