It's Patti Smith 'Horses'. Now I wish to know what is the music played over the intro to Trigger Happy TV of a Friday evening on Channel 4.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,438 ✭✭✭TwoShedsJackson

It certainly does Rad, could you hop into the ol time machine there and go back about five years, actually remember the name ( and artist ) of the song, then tell me?? Cheers smile.gif

What about that Bud ad from a while with the guy playing guitar. A blues sorta thing... and he used one of those metal do-hickys on his finger which they slide up and down the guitar and it sounds cool.

    Anyone?

conor, you ever find out who does the music for the guinness ad with on the beach with the oysters and the bird and all that?
by the way, anyone spot al pacino in the new guinness ad?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,438 ✭✭✭TwoShedsJackson

El_Pres, that was 'Smokestack Lightening' its been covered by nearly every blues artist living or dead smile.gif

WWman, no, actually there's another one: the pervy Guiness ad with all the oyster eating and such, anyone who can name that song will make me very happy indeed.

Bought Elastica's album for Connection, must say I like the whole thing - short but sweet.

Well, I put "smokestack lightning" into napster and it came up dry, anyone know where I can get this little ditty?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,438 ✭✭✭TwoShedsJackson

Smokestack Lightning was originally written by Howlin' Wolf aka Chester Burnett, its been covered byt the Yardbirds and Soundgarden, amonngst many others.

You should be able to get a Howlin' Wolf CD or a blues collection with that on it for about 6-8 quid in Tower, they have the best blues section I've seen in Dublin.

As for getting it on the net no idea, why not buy a cd and make Howlin' Wolf happy smile.gif
