    Even without a medical card, there is a maximum amount you pay under the drug refund scheme of about €80 / month. Not to be sneezed at, but it's something. You can usually get a GP appointment next day or 2 at most. Workers and children only have to pay a portion of the cost of basic dental care.

    Unfortunately some drugs are not covered unter the Drugs Refund/Purchase Scheme (or whatever it is called).

    The only online source I can find for the list is in the dail debates.

    No explanations are given for the exclusion of certain drugs there, maybe certain drugs are included over competing drugs if a company invested in ireland? some brown envelope thing?
